With her parents, Willow escapes to a safe place and meet up with a group known as The Crows. While she may have gained her freedom, has she gained the trust of these strange people? And is she really free or just following a different person's rules and laws? The characters in this story are engaging and do a great job of pulling the reader in. The narrative moves at a steady pace. There is lots of world building in this book, which is great for future installments in the series.
